The Club Hotel has a long and rich history as part of the Waterford community

The Club Hotel in Waterford has been a cornerstone of the local community for nearly 150 years.

Located in the City of Logan, Queensland, just 33 km southeast of Brisbane, this iconic pub has a rich history dating back to 1874, when it was originally known as the Morning Star Hotel.

In its early years, the hotel served as a vital rest stop for travelers, famously hosting politicians in 1874 who were on their way to Beenleigh.

The hotel’s role in community life is further highlighted by its prominence in local newspapers, such as a memorable mention in 1880 describing travellers stopping at the hotel for a quick refreshment.

Throughout the years, the Morning Star Hotel, later renamed the Waterford Club Hotel, has weathered many events, including significant flooding in 1887.

Despite changes in ownership and renovations, it has remained a gathering place for locals and visitors alike. By 1969, the hotel underwent a complete rebuild, bringing a modern touch to its historic charm.

Today, the Club Hotel is known for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and family-friendly dining options at Charlie’s Bistro.

The hotel remains a popular spot for both locals and visitors, preserving its role as a hub in the Waterford community.
